Musee d'Orsay

It's Spring Break this week and next. Honestly, Husband and I needed to blow off the stink of our teenager's Top Ramen sweat, dirty socks and greasy hair.

Where to go? The city of light (and romance)... Paris. It was a lovely spring day!

I really wanted to see the Musee d'Orsay and the Picasso museum. After further investigation, I found out the Picasso museum is closed until 2012 for renovations but hey, who can complain about the Musee d'Orsay? Every famous impressionist and post impressionist artist known to man is represented here... Renoir, Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Degas, Cezanne and Gaguin. My head was swimming with the riches of arts.

Honestly, the museum IS so overwhelming, has so many famous artistic works and is so crowded that with my ADHD I don't last very long in there. The Louvre is the same. I highly recommend both museums but for me (and what a privilege to be able to do this) - I have to visit them in several trips each to really appreciate them.

My favorites: Van Gogh's self portrait and anything by Cezanne. Husband's favorite: all the Van Gogh and his self portrait as well.

There you have it: our review of the Musee d'Orsay (for whatever it's worth HA!)

Here's some shots of the beautiful day...

That garden shot - those are the colors that make you go all aflutter. I've seen it so many times. Promise yourself to plant hot colors next time you have a garden. It makes you happy!
