Lovely Vicenza

Can't get enough of our beautiful city.

I schooled my nieces on the Palladio architectural style
. These loggias (pillared porches) were featured on almost all of Palladio's buildings.
The pillars, usually made of marble, cooled the air on the "porch" on a hot summer day by at least 10 degrees.

The church on the hill: Monte Bericho

The Rotundo, Vicenza. A Palladio classic.
Thomas Jefferson was said to model his home Monticello after this Palladian beauty.
